Bank Holiday Baking!

It’s official we love May! Another two Bank Holidays! Hurray!!!

Do you have family coming over? Looking for an activity to do with the children? Or just have couple of hours to spare and fancy some homebaked goodies?

We have a recipe for you not matter what you are up to. Buttermilk scones with jam and fresh cream make the ultimate afternoon tea. Cheese, Bacon and Tomato muffins are perfect for lazy breakfasts sat in the garden (or under the duvet) and these mini meringues are the perfect light bite that are just packed with sweetness!

What’s in Season in May?

At Baking Mad, we love to use seasonal produce in our recipes because it means you really are getting ingredients at their best. It also means that your recipes will taste the best they possibly can!

I know its hard to stay on top of what’s in season and when, so to help you out we have pulled together a lovely little Baking Idea to inspire you.

The Baking Idea includes Salmon and Asparagus Pie, Rhubarb and Ginger Upside Down Pudding and to wash it down Elderflower Cordial! Perfect dinner for a spring evening in the garden.

Baking Demos

At Baking Mad we like to offer everyone a little helping hand no matter how experienced a baker you are, but we understand that sometimes its difficult to explain over email or the telephone how to master certain techniques.

We have instead put together our first batch of how to Demonstation Videos.
These videos can be found in the ‘Baking Tips’ section under ‘How to Videos’ or within a recipes where each method or action is required.

We have demonstrations on……..

Creaming Butter and Sugar
Rubbing in Butter and Flour
Kneading Bread or Pizza Dough
Test Proved Dough
Activation of Dried Active Yeast for Hand Baking
Shaping Bread Rolls
Shaping Bread For A Tin
Pizza Making

We hope you find these very useful, but don’t worry we are still here to help you. Don’t forget you can always contact us for more help
