Cheese & Pecan Biscuits

About the bake

This is a tried and tested combination of crunchy pecans and rich mature cheddar cheese. Our Cheese and Pecan Biscuits make great little snack for cocktail parties and you can store them in an airtight container for a week.

Method

  1. Step 1:

    Set the oven to 190°C (fan 170°C, gas mark 5).

  2. Step 2:

    Place the flour and butter into a bowl, rub the butter into the flour to make fine crumbs. Stir in the Cheddar and mustard powder and bring the dough together with your hands to make a soft dough.

  3. Step 3:

    Place heaped teaspoonfuls on a baking tray, spaced a little apart so that the biscuits can spread. Place a pecan on each one and bake for 12-15 minutes until pale gold.

  4. Step 4:

    Allow to cool for 10 minutes on the tray then move to a wire rack to finish cooling.

    • 150g Allinson's Plain White Flour
    • 110g Butter
    • 1pinch Mustard powder
    • 50g Pecan nuts
