Dog loves them, recipe is a bit off, way too much water so the mixture is so wet and sticky. Added a bit extra and was still sticky so I would advise to use a dog friendly oil like olive (not suitable for puppies or dogs that easily get upset tummy's) or sunflower or fish oil to rub on your hands for shaping into biscuits, works a charm and no sticky fingers as there was no way I was getting this to roll and use a cutter.

I made them today .. I think the recipe says too much water so I had to add extra flour.. biscuits look too dry and didn’t get any colour . My doggie likes them so I guess it’s not too bad . I actually taste is but it’s very tasteless for me so next time I will add more stock into the water .. easy recipes if it will not make any tummy problems to my dog I will make this again with some change .. thanks for sharing this recipe

Hello,
Yes, I would think these would freeze well in an airtight container/bag.

How long is the shelf life on these treats?
My dogs love them.
________________________________________________
Hello,
Not long with my dog! I would think in an air tight tin they would be fine for 7-10 days. Alternatively I would think they would freeze really well.

When the recipe says substitute for oats are you saying replace wheat flour with oat flour? How it’s written is a bit confusing!
_______________________________________________
Hello,
You could use oats instead of flour, it does not have to be oat flour.
Hope this makes it clearer.

Hello, I just made these but they stayed quite soft even though I left them in longer...did everyone else’s go hard and crunchy or stay a bit softer? They sort of puffed up a bit too? Thanks x

Hello,
Yes they do puff up a bit and they will also harden up once taken out of the oven to cool.

Think I am doing something wrong...this mixture is just a glutenous blob.....how am I supposed to use a cutter when it's just a blob?
______________________________________________
Hello,
I actually made these the other day for my dog, if the mixture is too wet it is best to roll out in a bit more flour and make sure your hands are also floured. That way it shouldn't stick and you should be able to roll out the dough and cut out the shapes.
Happy Baking!

I might be missing something here, but when it says dissolve the stock in hot water, is that additional water, or the hot water stated in the ingredients?

Super easy to make. We ran out of the dogs' usual bedtime biscuit so I made some of these in about half an hour. Used a spoonful of bisto and some nutritional yeast for flavour. The dogs were a bit suspicious at first but went on to eat three each. I think they're a hit!

A great easy-peasy mix... Thank you. I added two gloopy teaspoons of Bovril to the mix along with a generous helping of charcoal powder as we have a flatulent Beagle ! shop bought charcoal biccies are nowhere near strong enough to have any effect but these work a treat.

I really enjoyed this recipe it was nice and easy. The only thing i would have to say is that it cooks many and they aren't very good after a week as my dog started not eating them as much. I would also suggest to put liver or and other flavor powder on top before cooking you can buy these at pet shops. It helped are dog want to eat his food more as he is fussy at meal time (but i can promise you he eats like a horse when it comes to treats)
